The wife has been wanting to get larger house numbers for the house for quite a few years now. So I struck a deal with Laura at Ravenstone Tile to make the house numbers and then she had two of her discontinued water lily tiles that I was able to score.
The frame is made from some reclaimed red oak that a local furniture store, that I do some framing for, was going to throw away. It is stained with Generals Brown Mahogany stain and finished with Spar Urethane. The lily tiles are 5 1/4” square and the number tile is 5 1/4” x 10 3/4”. The frame measures 9 1/8” high x 24 7/8” long. The rails are 1 7/8” wide and the styles are 1 1/4” wide all 3/4” stock. The dividers are 1/2” x 1/2” all with mortise and tennon construction and pegged with ebonized, pillowed walnut pegs. I used 1/4” cement tile board for the back and glued the tiles on to it.
