I have made quite of few of these Post Office Door Banks to sell both online and at a Art Market that I do a couple of times a year. This one I decided to do the joinery a little differently. I usually use box joints or straight spline joints on them but this one I decided to use a dovetail spline. I constructed a sled that I could use on my router table to cut the dovetail slots.
The wood is reclaimed walnut from an old book case carcass that my father had and the maple splines are from some scrap that I had around the shop. The door is a Corbin 1962 Nickle Plated door. Thanks for looking…..
